Partnership Opportunities with Tumbleweed

Just two years ago Tumbleweed was still a tiny company. Founder Jay Shafer was the only full time employee, and I toiled away in the wee hours of the night when I wasn’t at my day job. Many people we meet today still think of us as that little company with just 1 ½ employees, and are surprised to learn we now have a staff of roughly a dozen people working in Sebastopol, Seattle, Hawaii, New York, Kansas City, Romania and Indonesia.

I believe good things will continue to happen for both us and the Tiny House Movement. Interest continues to grow, and we’ve really cemented Tumbleweed as the leader in the movement.

Currently I’m working on a couple new projects that I’m very excited about. One is creating a licensing package which allows our fans to create their own business building Tumbleweed Houses for sale. The other is working with private lenders to arrange financing for the inventory of houses at rates not available at your bank. So please read on to learn more.

Keeping Up With Kendall

September 28, 2011

It is with great pleasure that we re-introduce to you one of our favoriteTumbleweed builders. Her name is Kendall and what she is trying to accomplish with her Lusby build is a great inspiration to all of us at Tumbleweed HQ.

In an attempt to do something about the rampant homelessness she observes daily, Kendall started her own company NerdGirlHomes. She set the goal for herself to build a Tumbleweed to donate to a family in need or have a raffle of the house and give the proceeds to a related cause.

As you can see from these pictures, she is well on her way. Kendall embodies the type of industrious spirit and open-minded determination that is the hallmark of a Tumbleweed builder. Her example is worthy of imitation and your support. She is accepting donations of time and funds to assist her build. Please visit her site here:www.nerdgirlhomes.wordpress.com.

Jay and Tumbleweed, all over the place.

Just in case you missed it, here are a few places that Jay Shafer, the founder of the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company have been interviewed and featured in the past few weeks.

Little Houses Down Under

The Gifford traditional

Jay was recently interviewed during the Australian Broadcasting Company’s Future Tense program. The show, hosted by Antony Funnell, focused on what is driving people to consider the move to a tiny home. Jay was part of a 5 person panel that explored the reasons and the realities behind tiny house living. You can download the show here.

Build you own Houzz

If you’ve never heard of Houzz.com. now’s your chance to get acquainted. Here’s a good reason to hop on over: they did a full feature on our Gifford model of the Box Bungalow. With 11 great shots of the interior, this might just be one of the best pieces of advertisement we could ever ask for! Be sure to head on over an leave a few comments of your own.

About our Tumbleweed builders and deocartors

Jonathan’s Fencl is built tough enough to take the cold winters of Flint Michigan. He designed a handsome interior space that includes just about everything you could image needing in a tiny house. Who says you can’t live a full life in a tiny space? He even has a flatscreen TV, perfect for cold nights of Wii playing coziness!

Jeff & Arlene have a great Fencl that now resides in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We really appreciate the attention to details that this dynamic duo incorporated throughout – including a wonderful copper door knocker.

Brittany didn’t let a little obstacle like not having any construction experience stop her from fulfilling the dream. Her Fencl is a favorite of ours. Her interior is light with a lot of personalize touches. I mean, did you see that sink? Just perfect! There’s a lot to love in this wonderful little house
