About our Tumbleweed builders and deocartors

Jonathan's Fencl is built tough enough to take the cold winters of Flint Michigan. He designed a handsome interior space that includes just about everything you could image needing in a tiny house. Who says you can’t live a full life in a tiny space? He even has a flatscreen TV, perfect for cold nights of Wii playing coziness!

Jeff & Arlene have a great Fencl that now resides in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We really appreciate the attention to details that this dynamic duo incorporated throughout - including a wonderful copper door knocker.

Brittany didn’t let a little obstacle like not having any construction experience stop her from fulfilling the dream. Her Fencl is a favorite of ours. Her interior is light with a lot of personalize touches. I mean, did you see that sink? Just perfect! There’s a lot to love in this wonderful little house

About Design Star

In a series first, the finalists must design the interior and exterior of an entire house - tiny house of just 99 square feet. Each finalist must demonstrate ingenious creativity and savvy space-planning skills in order to execute an inspiring home design that is both comfortable and functional. As carpenters from other HGTV and DIY Network shows arrive to help the finalists complete their work, mentor David Bromstad will coach them as they interact with their crew on-camera, just as they would in a real HGTV show. Watch a sneak peek.

Fun in Olympia

This weekend we were in Olypmia, Washington for a workshop. We choose Olympia because our very first customer ever, Dee Williams, has done an amazing job promoting tiny houses in her area.

Dee invited the entire class to come see her tiny Tumbleweed, and shared her story about living in a tiny home. I really enjoyed hearing Dee share her story about the Jay Leno Show. Recognizing that she was going to be seen by millions, she panicked that her house may not be legal. In a rush, she called the building department the day before taping the show. A very confused building department employee called her back within 24 hours and said everything was OK. So, with full confidence, she was all set to go and tell her story to the world ... only to be bumped last minute because Lindsey Lohan made a surprise appearance after getting out of rehab! Dee is still waiting for Leno to call back.
