Our West Coast Tour began today as Jay left this morning for Seattle, Washington. Tomorrow, he'll host his first open house from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Habitat for Humanity. Over the next three weeks, Jay will host a total 12 open houses.
Each one is two hours long. We've picked locations that are off the beaten path to keep traffic down. We recognized that we could attract much more attention by parking in busy locations, but decided that it was more important to meet our loyal fans. We wanted to keep the passer-bys to a minimum, and have more time with you, our supporters. We hope the crowd will be small and Jay will have time to answer questions. Please keep in mind that this is a great opportunity to see the house and ask some basic questions, but Jay will not have ample time to answer a long list of questions.
Jay Takes His House on the Road

This July, Jay Shafer will be taking his tiny house on the road as he travels along the West Coast from the Canadian Border down to the Mexican Border.
Jay will be joined by Small House Society co-founder Greg Johnson as the two demonstrate the versatility and endurance of a Tumbleweed Home. The pair will sleep in the tiny house and make stops at many cities and towns. For a list of dates, please click here

Over a dozen new green home designs are almost here. Pictured to the left is the updated Enesti. Jay has added an optional bedroom on the ground floor. These plans are complete, and the new house measures a tidy 774 square feet for the 3 bedroom version (ground floor pictured on top). When you purchase the plans, you'll receive plans for both the 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom versions. The bottom picture features the side view of the house with the additional room.
The following five houses will all be updated shortly:
- Harbinber
- Bodega
- Loring
- New Vessica
- Sebastarosa
...with more plans to come next month.
