We have so many fans who have attended a Tumbleweed Workshop and send us pictures of their tiny houses. We love how these fans have gone into a workshop with a dream and turned that into a reality. One fan recently came to us with so much more. Lee Pera attended a workshop on the East Coast and was so inspired by what she learned that she organized a group of people to build a row of tiny houses in Washington D.C.(We will share an interview with her soon!)
Lee and her group just closed on a parcel of land on which they will all build their tiny houses together. She is such an inspiration to us that we were delighted when she agreed to host an open house on April 14-15 in D.C. featuring the Fencl. Her motivation and drive is contagious and if you dream of building a tiny house community, she is full of ideas and practical knowledge. This group of builders will host the open house on one of the largest community gardens in D.C. which just broke ground in March.
We will keep you updated on her group's progress over the coming months and we have some special upcoming events with Lee that you won't want to miss. For now, sign up for the open house on our Facebook event page and be sure to share the event link with your Facebook friends!

I look forward to seeing what you come up with. If you can imagine yourself in a Tumbleweed, you are halfway there.
For those of you who haven't attended a Tumbleweed Workshop yet, we have a sneak peek for you! We captured a couple of presentations given by our amazing workshop hosts in Seattle, Dee Williams and Derek "Deek" Diedricksen.
Dee shared her expertise on how to build a sturdy tiny house for any type of weather. Dee built her tiny house in the Pacific Northwest and is currently helping with the build of a Tumbleweed in Hawaii so she understands how to build for various climates. Deek shared his knowledge of money saving tips in building tiny houses. He has saved thousands of dollars in the building process of several Tumbleweed Tiny Houses.
Our upcoming Miami Tiny House Workshop now has THREE guest speakers lined up, to make your tiny house workshop experience even more informational!
Alex Pino of TinyHouseTalk.com will discuss his involvement in the tiny house movement, upcoming projects, and excellent space saving advice.
Jo-Anne Peck, owner of HistoricShed.com that builds beautiful sheds and guest homes in the Florida area, will join us on Sunday to talk about Florida building codes. She will also share updates on her company's current projects and techniques in building.
L.A. Davis from www.MGNsolar.com will share his knowledge and expertise about solar energy and how his work and ideas compliment tiny houses and sustainable living.
I'll also introduce a few new segments to the Tumbleweed workshop format that include utilizing recycled and re-purposed materials in building your tiny home (check out my recent video on the topic), a showcase of a wild variety of tiny homes, shelters, and cabins, and some great ways to save THOUSANDS when building your own Tumbleweed tiny house.
As always, there is much more in during this 2-day event so take advantage of the $100 discount on the Miami workshop through Saturday, March 31st when the price goes back up to $399.
I'm also hosting a workshop in Boston if you're in the area. You can sign up for this one here.
