Got something to say?
Thanks for sharing this. I remember Steve N. from the workshop last year and I’m so happy to (finally) see his tiny house!

I love what you are doing with your website, Aeon. Thank you, and keep it up. We are trying to keep things simple right now with no official partnerships, but (unofficially) I know we already are on the same team.

i’ve never seen a trailer like the one steve used. it looks like it’s full-width. does anyone know who the maker is or where i might find one?

Yes, the trailer is a full 8′ wide. I had it made to specs to maximize my floorspace and headroom while still meeting the highway size requirements. It was made by a local company, R.E.’s Trailers, in Starke, FL.

I took a trip down to the local Lowe’s today. Picked up a corner of plywood…and that was ALL that I could pick up of it. Hmm…guess I’ll have to be my own general contractor and find some skilled local people to put up with me instructing them. How did Dee do it?? We’re practically the same age…I have the same determination, I think, but she’s in much better shape than I.
I found out these tiny houses are VERY expensive to make if you do it right…like the house wrap alone is $98 for just one 150 ft roll. Then I saw the tongue and groove pine for the interior…those were almost $8 each for about an 8 foot board. I say, Let all the voices of complaint of the price be silenced now and forever more! I can’t imagine me actually handling all those heavy boards with my bad back, then using all those heavy tools which I wouldn’t know how to use in the first place, but could learn. My problem is that I’m a 5ft 3 weakling.
Jay uses quality materials and does a quality job, I can tell by looking at the pics. Hmm, I wonder if he would take my graph paper floor plan and put it into plans, and then actually build the thing. I wonder how much all that would cost.
Oh well, I’m just here dreaming again. Carry on!

You know people that would “trade out” for me. Forgive me, it’s late and I’m not comprehending well. What is meant by “trade out”?
Sounds like one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me yet!
