Basic Building Questions

Can I build it myself?
We sell the house plans, but they don’t come with instructions. We are happy to consult with you to help the project go smoothly, but unless you are an experienced builder, we recommend you work with licensed professionals.

How long will it take to build?
It usually takes anywhere from 550-850 hours to complete a tiny house. A lot depends on the complexity and size.

What kind of trailer do I need?

Do you have any contractors you recommend?
We have not gone through the process to find and qualify contractors to build Tumbleweed homes in other areas.

What about permit requirements?
We do not advise on permit requirements. They vary so much that it is impossible to know what is possible without talking to you local building department.

As a general rule, buildings under 120 square feet can be added without permits (but check your local codes).
