Partnering with Tumbleweed

We do receive requests to partner with Tumbleweed. In particular, people wish to:

Currently we are a very small company and choosing to grow our company at a comfortable pace. We don’t want to grow for the sake of being a bigger company. Until 2007, Tumbleweed was a one person do-it-yourself business. We are still in our infancy and still building our foundation for growth.

In the long term picture, we plan to do all the things mentioned above, but we still are not at a point where we are ready to do so. Please uderstand that our time is very limited, and we have a business plan that we are adhering to. Everything in due time.

As we grow and look for partners, we will anounce such events in our email newsletter. As to the requests above, here are some basic answers.

Represent our homes / Have a showroom of our homes

Perhaps this is the request we get most. When the time comes, we will look for people who have a real estate liscense to represent our homes. That will be a requirement. It will be possible to have a showroom of homes, however, we are not able to provide financing for the showroom. One of our biggest obstacles now is insurance for our homes. Until we find a national insurance provider, financing for these homes has been unavailable so far. We will need to deal with the financing/insurance issue first.

Build Tumbleweed Homes

Once insurance/financing is in place, we expect to see a large increase in orders for homes. We will look primarily for existing manufactured home builders or builders with a facility. Anyone builiding these homes must be a liscensed contractor.

Using your products in our homes

Whether it be solar panels, SIP’s, logs, steel studs, or something else, we received many requests like these. Jay does look at them. Some are implimented. Most are not. Please understand it’s not that you don’t have great products, however many of them would require a complete redesign of our entire product line.

Build a village of Tumlbeweed homes

We’d love to see this happen. It is our dream too. Even if it’s just 3 houses. We do plan to partner with people in the future to build villages of any size. In the current real estate market, it’s very difficult to get the financing. It’s also hard to build a house for the cost you can buy a comparable house. It has definately put a damper on the plans we’ve begun, and we are waiting for the real estate market to turn around before putting more energy into this avenue.
