I cannot agree more with your statement. Who needs to waste so many hours cleaning? Small cozy, comfortable, homey! That's the ticket!

Hi there. I really like the Loring and the B53. I do have a question about the Loring. If I were to choose to buy the Loring plans, I would like to hire contractors to build the place and I wonder if it is possible to remove what looks like the closet space?? in the living room area that seems to be abutting the bathroom and extend the bathroom so I can include a proper sink and just make the toilet a regular one. It's the only bathroom in the house and technically those sinks above toilets should only be used for washing hands. If I wanted to wash my face, brush my teeth, and do the whole primping thing, I'd want a decent sink and that bit of space to store my toiletries.

The B53 is a beautiful house and has everything I'd ever hope for, but because of the square footage, it will cost me much more than choosing the Loring. The Loring would suit my needs just fine. Also, would I be able to ask contractors to put a back door on the additional bedroom at the back of the home so I can access the backyard? I guess my real questions are can I ask them to do alterations to your initial blueprints. In the loft in those 4 corners, are those extra storage spaces? Is there enough space in that little stairwell to maneovre and bring up bedroom furniture? That's the nice thing about the B53, it looks like it has a larger stairwell. Heh, it's gonna be hard to choose which house I'd want!

Lovely homes!! There are so many homes built now that are monstrous and it's just ridiculous. For someone like me who's living on my own and wish to purchase a home as an investment nest egg and just to call my own, I baulk at the idea of swimming in all that space and wasting the costs of heat, etc to maintain it. I'd rather have the space of the lot to make myself a gorgeous perrenial and herb garden! I've purchased your book and am very very eager to get it in my hands. Now the only thing I need to find out is how the devil to find open lots for sale within the city. Thank you for making such wonderful homes!

Chris and John. Your ecovillage sounds like a dream! I wish we could have something like that here. I live in a city in Ontario Canada and am on my own planning on buying a small home. My brother sent me a link. A musician friend of his is building one of these tumbleweed homes. I've yet to take a look at all of them but what a wonderful idea! It's just me, myself and I. I'm much into gardening and the study of holistic healing and my dream would have just a little home and a natural garden with a vegetable patch, a place to meditate and commute with birds and squirrels. Peaceful. Big houses take up so much energy, time and way too much space. But ohhh what I would do just to hear the coyotes sing at night!!
