I just have a question about the open house. I wanted to know how long the house will be available to view?

    Hi,

Not sure where to post this. Is it possible to get a list of RV Park Friendly places that would permit one of Jay’s Tiny Homes on Wheels to reside? If we had a list one could spend 1/2 a year in a cooler climate and then move to a warmer climate in the winter.

Wish there could be a few Tiny Home Only RV parks – it would make the idea of an RV park a bit more “Classy”.

$53,000 plus. Are u totally sh*itng me???? The things 350 sq ft or $151.00 plus a sq ft. Its cute and I love the idea, but is it built with bronze screws or something? Is foundation, mechanicals etc. included?

I do think the prices are absolutely outrageous, although I understand cost of materials and such, but still, it’s way too unaffordable and I thought that was one of the main reasons for considering a Tiny Home?! It’s very discouraging indeed, especially when one is looking for a better way of life, more economical, simple living… this much money is NOT simple, not for me, probably not for a lot of folks! Is this just some sort of novelty or something? I thought it was supposed to be something that could really be more readily and easily attainable. Cute but very disheartening to make a “reality” of life.

Investment for quality is what we pursue here in Tumbleweed. You are not the first one to respond this way since looking at the price can truly take you off guard ;>.

Yet looking closer, we always give choices. We offer plans, book and workshop for people to have knowledge in building tiny houses. This way, they can create with their own design as well as the materials they can get. Jay shares what he knows, but we don’t compromise the superior element of our houses for less $.

Our Resources page also features links to other manufacturer that you might find interesting.

I second the recommendation to get in contact with the National Building Museum, if you haven’t done so already. They had a year-long exhibit on “The Green House”. It was a walk-through model of a home with low-impact appliances and renewable material furnishings. You might be able to fit it in the museum… and if not that, they have some space on the front lawn ;)

..and by “it,” I was referring to the Fencl, not the Green House!

When can you get a display in the Mansfield/Columbus Ohio area? I just inherited my Mother’s home and it’s much to big for me. Maybe 1500sq ft. It’s eating me up!

I’ve been following the small and tiny house movement for a long time. Now that our children are grown and gone, my wife and I no longer need (probably never did) our 2400 square foot, 4 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath home. We are getting ready to downsize and after promoting small and tiny homes to my wife for a number of years, she is finally sold on the idea of living in a small/tiny home. I am sure that this particular home for sale is very nice, but at about $415 per square foot, it should be gold plated! My wife and I will end up in a small/tiny home, and hopefully it will cost MUCH less than this particular one does.

Just a suggestion Don, why not build a Tumbleweed house with your wife? It would be a great experience and you can actually save a lot of $$$! Try to salvage materials from your house and who knows you might actually built it with 10 grand (more or less :>)
